The Legend Of Heroes: Kai No Kiseki -Farewell O Zemuria- Will Feature Class VII And Similar “Flow” To Reverie

By marianna Apr 22, 2024

The Chinese outlet Gouhou recently interviewed Toshihiro Kondo, the president of developer Nihon Falcom. They discussed various topics pertaining to the company’s recent releases, such as Ys X Nordics and the upcoming The Legend of Heroes: Kai no Kiseki -Farewell O Zemuria-.

One substantial question and response delved into what this new Trails entry will feature from a character and story standpoint. Kondo has confirmed that Class VII from the Trails of Cold Steel titles in the Erebonia saga will appear, though the exact members of the class set to be in the title have not been explicitly stated.

Additionally, the “flow” of Kai will be similar to Trails into Reverie, but the specifics on this point were not elaborated upon. Perhaps it means the sense of swapping perspectives between multiple parties at various points, which is one of Reverie’s more prominent characteristics. Kuro no Kiseki II Crimson Sin also featured this storytelling style.

You can view a translation of this question and response below. @Renka_schedule translated portions of the interview into Japanese, while our team’s Ryuji translated that into English. Falcom community member Hansuke also ensured accuracy.

Q. What information can you disclose about Kai no Kiseki as a work commemorating the 20th anniversary of the Trails series?

Kondo: First of all, many characters from previous Trails games will appear. The game will start as the conclusion of the Republic of Calvard and revolve around Van, but the flow of the game will be similar to that of Reverie, where one stage focuses on A and the next stage focuses on B. Class VII from Cold Steel, a familiar organization you may know from across the series, and even the Septian Church will appear in the game, all of which play a rather important aspect.

We’ll keep you all updated with future Falcom releases and developments.

The Legend of Heroes Kai no Kiseki -Farewell O Zemuria- will be the newest game in the franchise after The Legend of Heroes: Kuro no Kiseki II Crimson Sin.

The Legend of Heroes: Kai no Kiseki -Farewell O Zemuria- will launch in Japan and Asia in 2024 for unknown platforms.
